nucao, founded in 2016, stands for sustainable chocolate products that combine indulgence and environmental awareness. The brand offers a selection of chocolate bars, bars and chocolate-coated fruit - all developed with the aim of creating healthy and resource-saving alternatives.

From online to offline: Growth through omnichannel sales

While the initial focus was primarily on the company's own online store, today the focus is on sales via retail chains such as Rossmann, DM, REWE and EDEKA. After the pandemic, it was clear that the real growth driver for nucao was in brick-and-mortar retail.

The company opted for Procuros and Xentral to master the challenges of food retail and make its processes more efficient.

Mastering new challenges in food retail

With the expansion into retail, the company quickly reached the limits of its existing systems and processes. Manual data entry, duplicate work steps and a lack of integration between different platforms led to inefficient processes.

Order processing and the manual management of orders and invoices were particularly time-consuming. The company needed a reliable ERP system that could not only map its own online store, but also offered interfaces to EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) systems for automated data exchange with large trading partners.

Seamless EDI integration with Procuros and Xentral

To overcome these challenges, nucao opted for Procuros and Xentral. Xentral acts as a central control unit in which all orders, invoices and warehouse processes are managed. Procuros is fully integrated into Xentral and handles EDI data exchange (EDIFACT (EDI formats): ORDERS/ INVOIC/ DESADV). As soon as an order is received from a trading partner, it is imported directly into the Xentral system via Procuros and processed there.

This seamless connection makes it possible for large orders from retail chains such as REWE or EDEKA to flow into the system without manual intervention. Procuros receives the orders and forwards them to Xentral, which ensures that they are processed correctly.

Efficiency as the basis for future growth

By combining Xentral ERP and Procuros, nucao has not only made processes more efficient, but has also created the basis for further growth. The automation of key business processes has enabled the company to meet the challenges of retail while increasing sales by up to 50% per year in recent years.
