Why procuros
A rare problem
One of the biggest problems in B2B trade somehow still isn't solved. In a world of narrow, vertical tools, a genuinely horizontal problem like this is rare — and we're building a generational company to fix it.
A rare team
The people around you shape your work more than almost anything. We're a diverse group of strong engineers and builders who like hard problems and don't flinch at messy ones. It's why we're careful about who we add.
A rare moment
Young enough for real ownership and fast growth. Settled enough to know how we work. If you do your best work in fast, messy environments, you'll feel at home.
Fewer things.
Done properly.
A small team moves fast by agreeing on a few things up front. These are the four we come back to when we need.
Faster than expected.
We are convinced that speed of execution trumps everything else.
Less, but better.
We focus on less things but we always go deep and beyond expectations.
Own it, 110%.
We are responsible not only for our own successes & failures, but also for our customers.
Win as a team.
We bring out the best in each other and always prioritize team wins over individual gains.
We don't hire publicly anymore.
Here's why.
Over time, we've found that referrals and our team's network produce our best hires.
The Pursuit of Outliers
We believe that to find outlier talent, you need an outlier hiring approach.
The challenges we're tackling at Procuros demand depth & problem-solving abilities far beyond the conventional. Standard hiring processes are designed to find standard talent—we need extraordinary minds to solve what many consider an "impossible" problem.
The Public Hiring Paradox
Traditional hiring creates a lose-lose situation for everyone involved. Candidates wade through impersonal application systems. Teams spend countless hours filtering applications. Both sides participate in high-pressure interviews that rarely reveal true potential. Even after clearing these hurdles, the risk of misalignment remains substantial.
We've experienced this firsthand. The overhead is immense, the signal-to-noise ratio is poor, and despite best efforts, we've had to part ways with talented people who simply weren't the right fit for our specific challenges.
What Actually Works
Data doesn't lie. Our network hires have consistently outperformed those sourced through conventional channels. They integrate faster into our existing team dynamics. They understand our mission more intuitively. They require less onboarding yet deliver exceptional results sooner.
We've built an incredibly high-performing small team. Now, we're focused on building around that core—adding people with proven chemistry and track records of excellence within similar problem spaces.
A Conscious Trade-off
We recognize this approach means we might miss exceptional individuals who don't happen to be in our extended network. However, we've made a conscious decision to optimize for efficiency and team cohesion during this critical phase of our growth.
This isn't about being exclusive—it's about being intentional with our most precious resources: time and attention.
An Open Door for the Extraordinary
While we don't hire publicly, our door remains open for the truly exceptional who feel deeply aligned with our mission. If you consider yourself in the top 0.1% in terms of drive and ambition, are obsessed with solving "impossible" problems, and feel genuinely compelled by what we're building at Procuros, we want to hear from you. If that is the case, feel free to reach out to chat@procuros.io.
We don't disregard inclusivity—we're simply focused on building the most effective team possible to tackle the extraordinary challenges ahead of us.
Procuros is an equal opportunity employer. We embrace and celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. We are open to all groups of people without regard to age, color, national origin, race, religion, gender, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression, marital status, or any other legally protected characteristics.
